Our walk through the Muti shops will include the famous “Museum of Man & Science”. We will meet Sangomas (witchdoctors) and Inyangas (herbalists) in the area . We will also learn about Traditional African religion such as the Zionist Church and the Shembe Religion. Our walk also takes us to shops that supply traditional beads and cloths incl. Shona , Shangaan , Zulu , Swazi , Sesotho , Ndebele & Venda ~ bring cash if you want to shop.

The walk ends at Gramadoelas ~ (Johannesburgs oldest restaurant open since 1967) specializing in Traditional African cuisine (lunch at your own expense)…

SIFUTU – African Sweat Lodge
Date: Sunday, 09 May 2010
Time: 11am – 2pm
Location: Sunset Lane, Pineslopes (Lonehill), Fourways

Join for an African Sweat Lodge (Sifutu), a traditional African way of steaming in a lodge or hut, using plants and herbs.
We will have a sangoma/traditional healing discussion after the sweat over lunch.

Cost R100 – includes a light lunch and discussion afterwards.
